The Benefits of Cannabinoid oil

Cannabinoid oil (CBD oils) is extracted from the Cannabis Sativa plant, popularly known as Marijuana. However, it does not give the user the high feeling expected from cannabis. That high feeling is from another Marijuana product called Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

The effects and side effects of Marijuana and its products are still a cause for heated debates among scientists. Some argue that its benefits greatly outweigh its side effects, and such CBD oil and other products have been legalized in some countries or states of countries such as the USA.

CBD oils has been found to offer some benefits to its users. Below we highlight four of the most common benefits you should expect from using CBD oils.

1.     Reduce Anxiety

CBD oils has been found to have a calming effect on most users. Researchers have found that CBD affects how brain receptor cells react to Serotonin. However, the correct dosage is still causing controversy. A study by PubMed central found that 600mg of CBD helped reduce anxiety on the test people who were just about to give a speech.

Another study by the Brazilian Journal of Psychiatry on 57 men found that 300 mg of CBD was the optimal dosage to reduce anxiety. Test people who used 300mg had reduced anxiety compared to those who used 150mg and 600mg of CBD. Animal studies have also shown that CBD significantly reduced anxiety and depression.

2.     Reduced Seizures

Seizures, primarily Epilepsy related seizures, have been found to reduce by 36.5% for patients who used CBD oils together with their epilepsy meds. Scientists are still researching the side effects and how much CBD oils is needed to stop the seizures.

However, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved some use of CBD to treat two rare types of Epilepsy to 2+-year-olds. Epidolex was approved in 2018 to treat two rare types of Epilepsy; Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

3.     Relieve Pain

CBD oil affects the brain receptors that help reduce pain. THC and CBD used together are more effective in relieving pain. CBD oil has been found to relieve Chemotherapy patients who room CBD after the treatments.

In 2005, Canada approved using Sativex to treat Multiple Sclerosis related pain. In 2007, it was approved for the use of Cancer pain, unresponsive to other pain relief medicine.

4.     Prevent Neurological Diseases

CBD’s full effects on the brain’s receptors are still unknown, and researchers are working to find its effect in preventing neurological disease. CBD has some anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that scientists believe can help provide neurological disease disorders.

Diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Multiple Sclerosis can be a thing of the past if researchers identify how to use CBD to prevent neurodegenerative disorders.

Conclusion

CBD oils and tinctures still have a long way from being considered a long-term treatment for some of the illnesses mentioned above. More clinical and human trials need to be done to ascertain that the long-term use of CBD oil will not have significant adverse side effects on its users. However, controlled and approved use of it can be beneficial. Check the legality and use of CBD in your state and country before using it. You should also only use CBD as medication if and how a doctor prescribes it.
